Regarding Keanu Reeves, I don't think he's a bad actor. I have a kinda theory on him. He is just the character he's being rather than the actor himself. I mean, nobody really know about him as an actor. He didn't open up to press, he didn't really go partying, and he tried to distance himself from the public. And when he was caught on camera, he always dressed down, def not like the usual superstars that we always accustomed of.

Overall, he made acting looks line un-acting. People says he can't act. But what makes a good actor? He is the character that comes alive on films. Whether it's Speed, Bill and Ted, or The Matrixes, he is them. He makes acting looks so flawless, people feels he's not acting. But that's what makes him special. He will not win with his over-the-top performance. He will not win with his circle of Hollywood colleagues, smooching around. He will not win with the

But hey! His movies made me cried after a long time leering at Hollywood for not able to move me. And his movies made my friend's cried just because it's so simple and had a perfect note in the end. And his movie had also challenged the notion of reality, till people really feel it's really not the perfect reality as it is. His Dude's speak is the dude's speak of the 90s. He made SWAT team fashionable. And best of all, he made geeks/nerds like me the best thing that ever happen to humanity.

My friend loves him. She said he and Johnny Depp has this kind of look. The Native Indian look. The black-hair, brown eyes, the mixture of desires and the notion of unattainable. The mysterious exotic looks. They don't really look like a typical Westerners, blond and blue eyes. And they don't act like arrogant guys. He's easily liked, although he kept his guard. Pretty boys, and he's not the All-American way (ok, he's Canadian). That is why people everywhere in the world could relate with him.

So I suppose, that is why he's perfect for the character he played. He gave people their chances, and his best works are actually from a first-time directors (Speed: Jan de Bont, Porint Break: Katherine Bellows, The Matrix: The Brothers). He goes for interesting projects, no matter how long it takes (months in training anyone?). And he's defintely not money oriented, prefering to be treated as equal with other extras. Gosh!

Long rambling eh? No matter I got to be a bass. Which is defintely the best thing.

I watched The Matrix-Reloaded on Saturday. And lemme tell you, well, it is fricking brilliant! I watched The Matrix back on 99', such an amazing year, lots of new directors emerged, great movies (The Sixth Sense, The Phantom Menace) and just a fascinating countdown to the millenium bug explosion. Back there, I'm impressed. Totally impressed on how they used influences from Asian cultures, 'I know King-Fu' (me and other geeks kept on saying 'I know programming'.- make our lives easier), the acupuncture for medicinal purposes, the Godfather of Logic, Lewis Carroll himself, and most interestingly, the anime style shooting.

Since anime style has a deep meaning in my vocab, I could see the movie has a whole different meaning to me.

For Reloaded, well, for me, it started quite slow in the beginning. The action wasn't as spectacular as the first one, in which Trinity kicked the donut-eating-cops' ass. Then, there's a whole Zion thing, and a lot of new characters introduced. But gotta tell you guys this, the new characters weren't as gripping as the first one, bar probably the Chinese guy who could just ask instead of showing his kung-fu skills.

The action really started to speed up when Neo sees the Oracle. The Neo vs Smiths scenes are brilliant. My friend told me it look too CGI for her, and she reminded of Shrek. But then again, Shrek also took from The Matrix (remember the kung-fu kicking princess everyone?). As for looking too CGI, well, The Matrix is actually a computer program, of course it will look CGI. That's what it do. So I wasn't totally disturbed by it. Besides, the scenes are extremely cool. And I think it's the best Kung-Fu scene in The Matrix.

Of course, everyone talks about the highway scenes. The whole action scene wasn't that original, but the way they executed it is so refreshing. The camera angle, the effects, the explosion, and they got to fights two baddies instead of one. The car chase scene, somebody was right when he said, it makes The Fast and Furious looks like The Slow and The Dimwitted. But my fav is the end, when well, it wasn't much of action, but the way Neo flew from the building as fast as he could make Superman looks.... *insert fav adjective here*

But in the end, can't wait for Revolution. Cos Reloaded, in the end, showed us, that Neo is one screwed guy.
