Gah! Went ahead and watched Turn Left Turn Right. So.. am I gonna do the whole eeeek-shrek-teenager (not a teenager anymore) or a profesional critic?
I'm just gonna be me and if suddenly I'm drooling... well, it is permissible. hehehehe...
It was good. The movie was beautifully shot, with all the colours and the personalities shown together in one movie. I mean, you had to have a certain view of the character if you want to include both of them in one shot, yet, not letting them came face to face with each other. Then, you really appreaciate Taipei as this vibrant, rainy city, and yet, with a dash pf local pride. Furhermore, there's the soundtrack. I love the soundtrack! I love the theme song that was sung by this Singaporean songstress (forgot her name, sth like shen sen or sth). I slept with that song in my head. I wanna get that song, heck, all the three versions I heard in the movie- vocal, piano, and violin.
How's the actors? How's the characters? Love to tell ya, they nailed it to the T. Gigi Leung is fantastic. She got her German understandable to my ears, although it was still accented. She's the strong women. She was afraid when she needs to be afraid, she cried when she needs to cry, and overall, she really wanted to meet Takeshi. I think all the women (minus the stalker) in this movie are strong. There's the food-delivery girl, who stood her feet against a crazy doctor, and in the end, ends up caring for him too. There's the landlady, who you know, you dont want to cross path with her. (Takeshi did /:)
And Takeshi. After all the drooling my friend did, I got to admit, he really looks good when he's all grown up. I mean, he's cute when young, but become more handsome as he appraoch 30. And as in this character, he's that violinist. He's alone, and dammit you root for him to finally meet the girl whom the name he never knew. There's a lot of Takeshi in the violinist. The shy, reclusive, man who opened up to the one woman which walk parallel in fate. *sigh* Yes, he's a hopeless romantic.
oh heck, I'm suppose to work. shhh....
